What the extension is for
In the browser of an authorised person, the extension fills in the vehicle keeper enquiry of the Province of Lower Austria (KFZ-Halteranfrage, steps 1 to 3). To do so, it takes the details of an application that this person starts in their ParkComplete portal, and it stops before the signature. The person signs, checks and submits the application themselves.
At present, the extension only works with the province's test form. The applicant, the representative, the place, the attachments and the licence plate, except for its district code, are made up; the district code, the date and time of the incident, the violation and the file number come from the case.
It only works for accounts that are registered with ParkComplete and enabled for the extension: the portal confirms every task with a digital signature, which the extension verifies before filling in the form.
What data it processes
- From the portal, for each application started: file number of the case, licence plate, place, date and time of the incident, legal interest and type of breach of contract, remarks, name, address, email address and telephone number of the applicant and of the representative, and the attachments (e.g. photo of the vehicle, power of attorney); an identifier of your portal account, for which the portal confirms the task.
- From the province's form: the step it shows, a receipt number it shows and its error messages.
Where the data goes
The extension only takes the data from the open ParkComplete portal and only enters it into the form of the Province of Lower Austria, that is, where you are submitting the application. The form already transmits the details to the province's server while it is being filled in, for example each time “Weiter” (Next) is pressed and when the attachments are uploaded; only you sign and submit the application. The extension reports the status (step, receipt number, error message) back to the portal page that started the application. As long as no portal page has confirmed it yet, for instance because that page was closed, it also reports it to every page of the ParkComplete portal that you open in this browser afterwards, including a test copy of the portal on your own computer (localhost:3160). The portal page saves it in your portal account.
The extension itself does not send any data to ParkComplete or to anyone else, and it transfers nothing to countries outside the EU and the EEA. It uses no analytics or advertising services and does not sell any data.
Storage period
The details of an application are kept only while the form is being filled in, in the browser's session storage (chrome.storage.session, not on the hard disk). They are deleted as soon as the extension hands over to the person at the signature, or when the run ends.
After the handover, the extension only reads the step shown in the form's tab and, once the application has been submitted, the receipt number. Of the run, the session storage keeps only its status (step, receipt number, error message) until the portal page has confirmed it, and its file number until the next run starts or the form's tab is closed – at the longest until you close the browser.
The extension never sees, stores or types passwords, including those for ID Austria.
Controller
The controller for the case and application data and for the identifier of your portal account is the company you work for in the ParkComplete portal, for example your debt collection agency. ParkComplete processes the data on its behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). The controller informs you of the legal basis and further details of the processing, for example in its privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can exercise your rights with the controller or at info@parkcomplete.com. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
